Managing Cloud Storage

On ProtoPie Cloud, you can easily monitor and manage your storage usage. This includes handling interaction libraries and revision history. Follow these steps to keep your cloud storage optimized.

Viewing Storage Usage

To check your storage usage, go to the ‘Storage’ menu. Here’s how the information is presented based on your plan and role:

For Free/Basic plans:

You’ll see your personal storage capacity, with a list of Pies sorted from largest to smallest by size.

For Pro/Enterprise plans:

  • Viewers: The view is the same as for Free/Basic plan users unless you have a basic subscription.
  • Members: You’ll see your top three projects by storage size, including project and editor names. You can also access the "Manage Revision History" menu.
  • Admins/Owners: Admins can switch views between teams using the Global Navigation Bar (GNB) if you are managing multiple teams.

Managing Revision History

The revision history feature lets you track and manage previous versions of your prototypes.

1. Go to the ‘Storage’ menu and select ‘Manage Revision History’ from the Pie list.

2. You will be directed to the Pie’s revision history tab, where you can:

  • View and manage different versions of your prototype.
  • Remove selected revisions unless they have already been deleted by other team members.

Handling Private Projects

This section applies to Pro or above plan users:

Team Admin & Editors: Private Projects are shown as "Private Project" with hidden names and editor details. The "Manage revision history" menu is disabled.

Service Admin: You can see the names of Private Projects and Editors but not the names of the Pies. The "Manage revision history" button is disabled.

Managing Cloud Storage Limits

On ProtoPie Cloud, understanding what happens when you reach your storage limit helps you take timely action to manage your storage effectively. Here’s what you need to know about handling storage limitations and managing uploads.

General Scenario: Uploading a New or Changed Pie

1. If storage was not yet maxed out:

If you had some available storage space before the upload (e.g., a Pro user with 4.98 GB used out of 5 GB), ProtoPie Studio will allow the save. However, you will receive a notification indicating that your storage is nearing its limit. You will need to manage your storage from the Cloud page.

2. If storage is already exceeded:

  • Free/Basic plans:
    • You will not be able to upload new or updated Pies if your storage limit has been exceeded. You must free up space or upgrade your plan to continue saving new files.
  • Pro plans:
    • Team Members: If your storage limit is exceeded, you cannot upload new or changed Pies. You need to either manage your storage by deleting unnecessary files or contact your service admin for additional storage options.
    • Team Admins: If the team admin’s own storage or the overall team storage is maxed out, they will not be able to upload new or changed Pies. They should review and manage storage across all teams and projects, or contact us to request additional storage.
